Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Orientation
My theoretical orientation is best described as integrative. I build
upon a foundation of interpersonal psychotherapy and incorporate
aspects of other approaches such as psychodynamic, humanistic,
and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy. To me, the most essential
component of psychotherapy is the development of a strong
therapeutic alliance between the client and therapist. I view this
relationship as collaborative, with both of us working together to
help you understand yourself and your difficulties more clearly.
Finally, I utilize the therapeutic foundations delineated in
person-centered therapy, establishing a safe environment in which
you can explore pertinent therapeutic issues.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who works to help clients with
a wide range of difficulties including depression, anxiety,
bereavement, relationship problems, and coping with trauma, as well
as with issues surrounding sexual orientation and chronic illness. I
particularly specialize in helping gay and lesbian individuals coping
with childhood sexual abuse.

My primary goal is to provide you with a safe and confidential
environment in which you can feel comfortable talking about your
concerns. During the initial consultation, I will help you determine
treatment goals and discuss the best approach to therapy for you
and your specific needs. I work with adults and couples to provide
practical ways to approach some of life's most difficult challenges.
